Mom,

Thanks for the birthday package!! ive already learned to solve the rubiks cube pretty quickly. We enjoyed the cookies. Thats amazing how fast they got here!!! We were walking in the door for lunch, and the post man was standing right there trying to ring up to the apartment.

My glasses are a little too small. I was thinking about maybe getting contacts again when I get home. It might be nice having both. About the smiling thing, Its important to smile!!! GBH said "Smile, smile why dont ya?!". We share a message of joy, we need to show it!

The 4th was great!! in the morning we went to a morning devotional at a park. The church puts on this big thing for the town, and it was really great! i got to talk to a member of the 2nd ward who is leaving for his mission to poland. he just finished his second year at West Point, so we contrasted and gave tips to each other about how to prepare and what kinda things to focus on. We then did some service for 2 less-active families. We went to a barbaque at the Noel's home, and had an investigator and a less-active lady come!! it was great!! Afterwards, it was raining so fireworks were canceled, but then we went to a LA/Investigators home and shared with them a General Conference Address from the 80's by Bruce R. McConkie, "the purifying power of Gethsemanie". It was powerful. We hope that this gets them jumpstarted. It was a good 4th of July! they postponed the fireworks, until the 8th, so i enjoyed those on my birthday!! we can see the place from our apartment, so it was easy to watch from the comfort of our home. Yes, i did make Debi Dip and everybody is a fan!! I also made Satay. are you proud of me? it was good too!

Kolin is a brain about everything. I think he took astronomy before, and he LOVES that kind of stuff. Im glad they came over, Clayton mentioned it in his email. I know why the default IP address wont work. Because its the wrong router. i forget the IP address though... arg, so there are two fixes: either, Guess, so i think it might be somthing like 192.168.1.2, or 192.168.2.1 or .50, or .52 or somthing... i forget. the other thing (more technical) is to download a portscanner, or network mapping tool. I have one on my computer, but thats not worth the effort to get. go to download.com or just google, and download one called GFI, or somthing like that... then run a scan on 192.168.*.*. itll show you the IP addresses of the machines and routers on the network.

Im proud of Chelsea, i talked to her last week on email. It sounds like things are going well for her!

hahaha, come on, First Aid is standard! you were a Den Mother, you know about SOME stuff....

This week was great. A lot of good things happened. the highlight was a few things. First off, we were going to go tracting on saturday, but the Jehovahs Witnesses were EVERYWHERE in the neighborhood we were tracting. So we decided not to go there. instead, we just followed the spirit. We found this random, dead end street with like 6 houses on it. We, being prompted to stop, started knocking doors. about the 3rd door there was a family outside riding bikes. We talked to the Father/Grandfather (he didnt look that old), and he told us that he has a family of 17. Children and Grandchildren. He invited us back for next sunday to teach them!!! Gosh, miracles!!! Then on sunday the Temple President came to church. He brought some older couples from the place where he used to be a mission president, and they stayed for the whole block. President Hutchins paid us a nice compliment when we were going around talking to the new faces, he said "well what do we have here? just talking to the faces you dont know?" i said "of course", and he said "well let me guess, you must either be Zone Leaders or Assistants". We considered that a very nice compliment. He spoke with power and authority. One of our investigators came up to us afterwards and said "im just about ready to tell you to baptize me now!!!". It was great!!! It was a great birthday!!!

Well, thigns are good. Im loving it. This week i hit my 18 month mark. Can you believe that Jimmy comes home in 3 months?!?! thats weird. then im 3 months behind him. Im feeling a greater sense of urgency since i know how fast the time goes. I hope to see some really great things happen here before August, hopefully some baptismal dates and such!!

well, we gotta run. love ya and miss ya!! ill ttyl!
